Quar

New

family outing today we went to the Sanctuary of the Quar. Before reaching the shrine we stopped at a farm-solids (Soldevila House) where we purchased a soft cheese, which we tested at the Shrine and was delicious.

The Sanctuary is located at 1020 meters on a cool, surrounded by steep rocks. The first news we have is the year 819. The unknown Romanesque church was consecrated in 900 by the Bishop of Urgell. Here you have a link where I found more information about the sanctuary and the Virgin: LINK

Then we followed the road and we got what was once the Monastery of Sant Pere de Portella. As we have said the man from the dairy was once a haven where they came to stop at the University of Cervera in the Carlist wars, no idea if it's true or not (accessed wikipedia what man says is true XD)

Here the paved road ends, just where the road leaves just paved road to the northern reaches Borreda certainly, but what's interesting is that 500 is the source of the abbot. Supply us after we have continued to Borreda, did not know how the track would be later, and better not gamble.

This Easter we spent several days in the Garrotxa and we have come to eat and see the view from the Sanctuary of La Salut. The last time I will like about 8-9 years, that entoces not my two sons were with me, and I have a feeling that food was much better. The truth is that this time was a bit of a disaster and it took much much to serve all the dishes, you can add that we were going with kids, and you can imagine that we almost hit a shot at times.

The fantastic view from the sanctuary.

Here you have some pictures and a video with background noise of my children banging something ..
